Nordic Diet, also known as New Nordic Diet, is based on food coming from the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. It helps improve blood lipid profile, insulin sensitivity and lower blood pressure and body weight. 

We should receive more calories from plants and fewer from meat. Fish and shellfish are highly recommended as they contain high amounts of protein. We should consume more food from the wild countryside such as mushrooms, berries, fruit, because they have higher contents of vitamins C, E and antioxidants.

The diet is not only a program which can help us to lose weight but it is a lifestyle and diet for life.
