Acai berry diet

Acai berry diet

by Richard Kozinski

There is a growing number of diets on the market. Some of them are more effective, some less, some completely safe, while others quite risky.

Let’s start from explaining what acai berries are. They are small fruits, which look like grapes, but are a little bit smaller and darker. The palm tree berries grow in the Brazil’s Amazon rainforest.
Acai berries are high in different elements necessary for the proper functioning of your body.

These small fruits contain anthocyanins and flavonoids, which are antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radicals, which speed up the aging process. The antioxidant property of acai berries is not the only benefit of the fruits. They are also high in vitamins and minerals, amino acids and fatty acids, including omega-6 and omega-9. Niacin and beta-carotene are other important components of the Amazon rainforest berries.

You should also know that acai berries are not very fleshy and have lots of seeds. That’s one of the reasons why they are hardly ever available in their natural form and often come in a form of e.g. a supplement. Such a product is totally safe since it is a concentrated form of the precious berry.
